The balanced scorecard is a strategic planning and management system that is used extensively in business and industry, government, and non-profit organizations worldwide. Balanced Scorecard is used align business activities to the vision and strategy of the organization, improve internal and external communications, and monitor organization performance against strategic goals.

Once the business strategies are developed, they’re deployed and tracked through four different business perspectives.  These four perspectives are financial, internal business, learning & growth and customer.

Balanced scorecard was first developed in the early 1990 by Robert Kaplan and David Norton at Harvard Business School, USA.

Balanced scorecards have become not only popular within large and small organizations, they’ve become essential to measuring and managing what’s and how’s of business. Now-a -days, more and more companies are adopting Balanced Scorecard in order to track their performance to achieve their business objectives.
